Car Body Design Based on Quartic Generalized Bézier Surfaces with Multiple Shape Parameters

Abstract:

A method for car body design was proposed herein based on quartic generalized Bézier surfaces with multiple shape parameters, which described the car body with the groups of quartic generalized Bézier surfaces with multiple shape parameters. Firstly, a group of quartic generalized Bézier surfaces were created and blended continuously; the surfaces' boundary position and the shape parameters were adjusted and then a new car form could be obtained. This method, based on the principles of the quartic generalized Bézier surfaces with multiple shape parameters generation and blending, can modify the surfaces quickly by the boundary curve adjustment and obtain many design solutions.

摘要:

提出了用多张四次带参广义Bézier曲面拼接描述汽车车身曲面的方法。由设计师构建多张四次带参广义Bézier曲面,并对这些曲面进行光滑拼接,在调整各曲面公共边界的位置及形状参数的条件下,形成不同的汽车造型方案。该方法基于四次带参广义Bézier曲面生成及拼接原理,可以迅速调整车身曲面和公共边界,获得光滑的曲面过渡效果,从而快速获得多种车身造型方案。
