A New Hydraulic Design Method Based on Clearance Flow of Axial Flow Pump

Abstract:

The clearance flow and boundary layer between the impeller hub and the flange of an axial-flow pump have great influences on the performance of the axial-flow pump. Numeca and Fluent software were used for numerical simulation of flow in the clearance of impeller flange. According to the simulation results, the molded lines runner vanes, as well as the blade profile at the impeller hub and flange were modified to obtain ideal speed-pressure distribution. A new hydraulic design method based on clearance flow of the axial-flow pump was proposed. This new hydraulic design method can improve the flow at the boundary layers between the flange and hub, as well as the clearance of the flange, and the purpose of improving the efficiency of the axial-flow pump is achieved. 

摘要:

轴流泵叶轮轮毂与轮缘处间隙流动及边界层对轴流泵性能的影响很大,应用Numeca及Fluent等软件对轴流泵叶轮轮缘间隙中的流动进行数值模拟,根据流动模拟结果对叶轮叶片型线及轮毂、轮缘处的叶型设计进行修正,使其速度-压力分布比较理想,并提出了基于间隙流动的轴流泵水力设计方法,这种新的水力设计方法有利于改进轮缘和轮毂处边界层以及轮缘间隙中的流动,达到提高轴流泵效率的目的。
