基于原案分析的工作模式对机械概念设计认知过程的影响

Experimental Study of Effects of Work Mode on Conceptual Mechanical Design Cognition Process through Protocol Analysis

摘要:

提出工作模式对设计时间、设计质量和设计结果创新性影响的3个理论假设。运用原案分析法,对14名机械专业研究生进行可调座椅概念设计认知实验,以验证这些假设,并采用Mann-Whitney非参数检验法进行统计分析。结果表明,在设计结果的创新性方面,不同工作模式下设计者的表现总体上没有显著差异;而在设计时间和设计质量方面,以交替模式工作的设计者的表现总体上优于以顺序模式工作的设计者的表现。因此,交替模式能够发挥两种媒介的优势,即传统媒介更适用于表征设计概念,而CAD媒介则更适用于分析和检验设计意图,从而提高设计效率。

Abstract:

Three theoretical hypotheses were presented on the effects of work mode on design time, design quality, and novelty of design result. In order to test the hypotheses based on protocol analysis, a series of cognition experiments were conducted on adjustable seat conceptual design by 14 postgraduates in mechanical major. The results of Mann-Whitney nonparametric tests show: in terms of novelty of design result, there is generally no significant difference between the different work modes of the designers; but in terms of design time and design quality, the designers working in alternant mode generally perform better than those in sequential mode. It confirms that alternant mode can take the advantages of both media that traditional media is good for representing design concept and CAD media for analyzing and checking design intention, and thus alternant mode can enhance the efficiency of design.
