Abstract: The paper, at first, presents the basic concept of three forms of standardization, i. e. generalization, seriation and combination or modularization, and the necessity of the realization of satellite standardization, secondly introduces the status of the foreign satellite common platforms, thirdly formulates the basic principles on establishment of satellite common platforms, and finally gives the performance parameters of the eight CAST＇s common platforms, including weight, size, supportable payload weight, total power output, power available to payload, telemetry and telecommand, propellant available, operation lifetime and compatibility with launcher, and the application prospects.
